Parlor Favors, my first historical romance was quite an undertaking. I now have a profound appreciation for the amount of research and care that goes in to writing one. I consider myself a detailed person, but getting things right was quite a challenge. In other types of writing, you, the author, are able to take a lot of things for granted. For example, I know without looking it up what types of foods are available where I live. But in 18th century England, I, as the author, can take nothing for granted. I must research and discover for myself precisely what my hero and heroine ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

But I made it through to the other side, and am a better person for having done it. And I must give credit where credit is due. Had it not been for all of the historical romances that I have read by authors willing to stick their necks out in danger of getting the details muttled, I would not have undertaken such a tremendous task. So, it is with gratitude that I would like to acknowledge those that have come before me. Thank you. I hope that my work lives up to the standards that are already in place for good historical romance.

Mine is the story of Miss Brigit Winnet who can talk to animals and Lord Edmond Westmoreland.
The heroine is trying to connect with her past and the mother she has never known, but her present troubles pull her into the future and into the arms of the enigmatic Lord Edmond Westmoreland. Westmoreland, the handsome ex-Naval officer, grieving his father's death, must convince Brigit to marry him in order to inherit his fortune. But while he threatens Brigit on every level, her spirit captivates him. With him she struggles between past and future, love and loneliness, passion and betrayal.
